When you are in Sydney, and crave some good Hongky style cafe food, Ching Yip (甜甜) cafe would be the place to go (not there there are much other choices since the rest have all shut down already)!
Located in the heart of China Town in Sussex Building lvl 2, it not only brings you authentic HK food, it even gives you the very authentic HK cafe experience, that the waitresses will start hassling you to order 2 seconds after you sit down, and will hurry you out literally the moment you take the last bite. Cannot get more authentic than that!
My favourite is to order the daily quick set, at the cheap price of ~A$12, you get a drink, the rice/pasta dish, and a HK style soup. No it's not superb food, but for that price, it's awesome!
I also love creating my own thing, and they certainly let you do that. I often order Pork Chop fried instant noodle (豬排抄丁) which is not in the menu, but they do an awesome job of it!
Is it 5 star or 4 star food? I'd be honest, NO. But for HK food crave, it's the only place I call proper and authentic and for that it deserves a good star rating! -

I always come here for a nice Hong Kong-Style arvo tea.
Their afternoon tea meals are cheap and good.
I love their toasts and chicken wing dings.
Everything here is very authentic. Even their customer service is Chinese style =.=""
What is authentic Chinese style CS?

Seriously, they don't meet our Australian standard. Its not clean enough.
The only thing you will like most would be their price and their cantonese accent : p -
